Virtues We Can Do Without

self-ef·fac·ing (slf-fsng)
adj.
Not drawing attention to oneself; modest.
self-ef·facement (-fsmnt) n.

This traditionally feminine virtue is not of much use when you are trying to sell your work.

Humility can be deceptive, anyway.  It is
most useful in getting a person to
share her ice cream.
